This year Pirate Fest will open with a Kick Off concert on Friday, October 21 from 6-10 pm at the Ocean Ave. Amphitheatre. This Free fest is located (129 E Ocean Ave.)  along E. Ocean Avenue between Seacrest Blvd. and Federal Highway from 11am -10 pm  on Saturday and 11am-7pm on Sunday.

Downtown Boynton Beach will be transformed into Hobb’s Cove, a bustling old world port brimming with pirate superstitions of the ship wrecks off the coast of Boynton Beach and Merlandia, a mysterious oasis where the sirens of the sea lure you into the depths with their song. This lively FREE event features 12 stages of continuous entertainment, live music, children’s activities, pirate stunt shows, live mermaids and more. The Haunted Pirate Fest drew thousands of people of all ages to Downtown Boynton Beach last year to enjoy a variety of swashbuckling adventures. Held on the campus of the DBHS and at Space of Mind, this year’s event features the “Fish Tales” exhibit, a “Fish Tales” themed haunted house, a costume contest, fun and games for kids, a bake sale, raffle and outdoor movie!
The Haunted House is full of surprises and special effects designed by the students at Space of Mind. The Fish Tales exhibit illustrates Delray’s storied history of commercial and recreational fishing. The exhibit also includes hands-on aquatics. Kidsfest and Halloween Festivities

“Trick-or-Treat Along the Avenue” 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
All children are welcome to show off their Halloween costumes and Trick-or-Treat along the avenue and Pineapple Grove (between Swinton Avenue and the Intracoastal Waterway.) This event, which provides parents and children with a safe environment to trick or treat, will be held from 11:30am to 1:00pm.

Halloween Parade 1:00 pm
At 1:00 pm, children are invited to begin lining up to participate in the Halloween Parade at the southeast corner of Old School Square Park. The Halloween Parade route will go east on Atlantic Avenue through downtown Delray Beach to Veterans Park. Free ice cream for the parade participants will be handed out at Veterans Park. Kidsfest 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Immediately following the Halloween Parade, all children are invited to join the City at Kidsfest! Kidsfest is a free family event in Veterans Park, 802 NE 1st Street, that features live entertainment, a bounce house, food vendors, a make-and-take craft area and much, much more. In addition, local children’s services/organizations that target health, safety and fun will be featured to provide additional information to parents.
NEW this year is a children’s scavenger hunt. Stop by the Parks and Recreation Booth when you arrive at Kidsfest and pick up scavenger hunt list. Find all the items on the list from our vendors, and return it to the Parks and Recreation booth for a special prize.

Saturday, Oct. 15th

The Recreation Department is registering runners/walkers for the 5K Ghost Run to be held on Sat., Oct. 15, 7:30am. The 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) certified course begins and ends at Anchorage Park. Anyone between the ages of 7 and 90 years old is eligible for participation in this event. In addition to the 5K, we will be holding a Spooky Sprint for youths 3-6 year olds, and a 1K Goblin Run for youth 7-10 years of age. You are invited to join in even if you don’t run! The school with the most entrants will get an award too! Pre-registration fee is $25/person at www.runsignup.com. And $30 on race day. Pre-registration for the 1K is $10 and $15 on race day. Our fifth annual Trunk or Treat, sponsored by the Home & School Association, is just days away! This has become one of the St. Clare community’s best-loved events of the year! Trunk or Treat is a safe, family-friendly way for our students to trick or treat before Halloween. In addition to games, prizes, a live DJ, food, a beautiful fall back-drop for a photo op, and fun; there will be awards for best costumes, class decoration, and trunk; a Middle Schooler vs. Teacher pie-eating contest; and, of course, trick or treating “tailgate style” on the school fields!

When: Friday, October 28th, from 4:45-7pm (Cars must be parked by 5:30; NO exceptions)
Where: Clare Catholic School field
Who: All St. Clare Catholic School students and families PK-3-8th (Students must be accompanied by a supervising adult)
Entrance Fee: $5.00 per family (includes one Trunk or Treat candy-collecting bag per child, games, prizes, candy, and one parking pass for car; must be pre-paid)

Kids are sure to have plenty of fun in the Kids Fun Zone, sponsored by Palms West Hospital! Have an arrrgh-mazing time on the “Swashbuckler”, or take a planetary plunge on the “Blast-Off” slide! Race your friends through the “Lost Jungle”, or join in on an “Xtreme Dance Party”. Saunter over to the “Redneck Saloon” for a friendly, competitive gallery shootout, and so much more!
Be sure to visit the face painters, located inside the gym, for free face painting!
Take part in a costume or pie eating contest on the sound stage! Pie eating contests are first come, first serve. The costume contests will include prizes for 1st place through 3rd place in each of the following age groups: under 3; ages 4 to 6; ages 7 to 10; ages 11 to 14; and 15 and older.
Be sure to stop by and visit with the friendly animals in the Fall Festival petting zoo, or take pony ride on the lawn!
Stop by the sound stage to enjoy music and entertainment, including dance performances, the costume and pie eating contests, and more!

We celebrate the opportunities given to adults with developmental disabilities through employment so they may live and work independently to their maximum potential.

The Pet Costume Contest is Back!
A pet costume contest will be held at Spookyville on Saturday, October 22nd. Bring your costumed pet and our team will register you. The contest begins at 1:00 p.m. with a great prize for the winner!!

Start planning your costume now. Get out your be-dazzler, glue gun, and any props you may need. This will be a fun event and we look forward to seeing your pets.
Note: Pets MUST be on a leash when entering the event. Please do not bring exotic pets or reptiles e.g. snakes, spiders, etc. that may scare the little ones.
