The 2016 Fort Lauderdale Air Show will feature three jet demonstration teams! For the first time in North America in nearly a decade, teams from three nations will gather together and perform at the same event. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will be joined by the Canadian Air Force Snowbirds and the Breitling Jet Team from France in a grand international aviation spectacle over the surf and sand of Fort Lauderdale Beach! The Fort Lauderdale Air Show will be the first civilian air show in history to feature the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.
The Drop Zone Beach features everything you need for a hassle-free and memorable viewing experience. Portable restrooms steps of-the-beach and reserved just for the use of ticket holders. Food & beverage including beer and wine are also available for purchase in the Drop Zone Beach so you never have to leave the action and miss out on the aviation spectacle going on in front of you. You receive a complimentary program guide so you can read about all the aircraft performing in the Fort Lauderdale Air Show.
Air Show Center and the event site for the Fort Lauderdale Air Show is located on State Road A1A north of the Sunrise Blvd intersection. The premium viewing areas including the Flight Line Club VIP, Photo Pit, Corporate Chalets and theDrop Zone Beach are all located on State Road A1A and the adjacent beach between Sunrise Blvd and Northeast 14th Court. The entry gate to the Drop Zone Beach is just north of the Sunrise Blvd/A1A intersection. Flight Line Club VIP and Corporate Chalet ticket holders will receive reserved parking passes for Birch State Park and will enter the event site at the park entrance on A1A. A shuttle bus loop will provide transportation from seven stops inside the part to this entrance. The display and exhibit area is located at the Sunrise Blvd/A1A intersection. The Event Site will open to the public at 9:00 am each day.

State Road A1A will be closed from just North of the Sunrise Blvd intersection to NE 14th Court beginning on Wednesday, May 4th at 6:00 am. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department will be setting up a checkpoint at NE 19th Street and only local vehicle traffic will be permitted south of the checkpoint. Pedestrian traffic will be permitted for spectators to view the air show from the beach area from NE 14th Court or NE 19th Street. This section of State Road A1A will re-open on Monday, May 9th at 5:00 pm. The intersection of Sunrise Blvd and State Road A1A will remain open to vehicle traffic throughout the weekend with no hard closing. Vehicle traffic may be limited during the event on May 7th and 8th so it is strongly advised to avoid this intersection while the air show is taking place.
